We came in and asked for 5 nights as were charged a rate, which we paid. Imagine our surprise to find a note on our door claiming we needed to pay more money! Seems the lady had only charged us for four nights. The staff was rude demanding to look at our receipt. Demanded that we pay for another night at the full rate. If you stay here, make sure you have the correct number of nights as they will back end you with additional charges. Their transient parking is in the front of the park along the I 8 freeway and you will not get any sleep all night long. Also they lock the bathrooms at 10 PM so be sure to have you chores done before then. We will never be back, and you should stay away!!!!!

I do not remember ever giving a park a 10 before! This place rates an 11. All sites are concrete and irrigated grass. The sites are 30 x 80. Clean Clean Clean. You can wash the rig, they don't care, since they use water for the grass anyway. The bath house and restrooms were spotless and the laundry was just as clean. They give a discount for Good Sam, but then if you come back, they have a coupon on the park directory page that you can turn in for an additional 5%, so we stayed again on the way home. Add this stay, if your on your way anywhere near!

This is an overnight location, on your way to somewhere else. It is right along the highway, and the traffic noise is relentless. The train behind the park runs past midnight, but seemed to not be a problem after that. We were assigned a site that was three sites long. We couldn't leave in the morning because the motorhome in front hadn't left yet. We had to back out from the site. Our driver's side was against the trailer next door as we had common utilities. We faced opposite directions. The sewer was above us on the hill so our sewer wouldn't drain. The camp shower was all tracked with sand and mud, so we showered in the rig. Had to move and connect to a different site to drain the grey tank on our way out. We were looking to get off the road and this filled the bill, but it could have been more convenient. We would use it again, but understand what we would receive ahead of time.

This is a grassy corner in a farm field on the West side of the interstate. It is miles from other facilities so it is really an oasis like its name. The park offers all the discounts, and has a laundry list of rates depending on which group you are a member with. The best discount was with Passport America, but I used Escapee for 15 percent off. The WiFi worked well but wasn't too strong. The sites are gravel and grass. The office/shower house and laundry was clean. The showers lacked private dressing areas, as you towelled and dressed right in the middle of the room. The road noise was constant, but was about a half mile away, so was not overly loud. This is a convenient stop on your way to Texas, so we plan to stay again.

This is primarily a fishing resort, with cabins and a motel, as well as concrete RV sites. The sites are nicely sized, and are under the stately old oak trees along the bay. Roads are gravel but have curbs in places. Our site had a lamp post on the drive, which was nice as the park is very dark at night. Wi-fi and cable TV worked well. Showers were next to the office, but we were in the newest part to the back of the camp ground. We had to drive the car or ride the bike to the bathroom. The laundry left something to be desired, as it was not too clean. It was alright to a man's standards, but the wife said we are going into town. This is located on the old business 35 highway 5 miles South of Rockport. The Big Fisherman restaurant is around the corner on Hwy 188. That is an experience in itself. I'm sure we'll be back.

We have spent the last four months here during the 08/09 winter. Our rate is based on the multimonth renewal rate, after the minimum is paid for the first two months. This is a winter destination park, with many many sites. Close to half are for park models, but there is an area V along the back that is intended for big rig RV's. The staff has been friendly, and the activities are too numerous to list. If you want an activity, it is likely available. Pets are restricted to pet area sites, and you are not allowed to walk your pet into non pet areas. Pet relief spaces are in most of the corners of the park, and you are expected to clean up after your pet. Sites are shallow for rigs over 35 feet, with exception of what they call pull thru, which are all blacktop sites with hookups, and 70 feet deep. These were mostly used by motorhomes pulling utility trailers.

Yes our dog had problems with the burs in her fur. We kept her on the rocks. The dog walk in the desert is fine for short hair and larger dogs. This KOA is older and has that feel, but the utilities were fine and the showers were clean. The propane was the cheapest in the area, and folks were coming from other campgrounds to have their tanks filled here. This is not a destination campground, but worked for us for day travel to Tombstone and Bisbee. You are a half mile North of the interstate, and the train track, so while you can hear them, it is in the distance. The train does blow its whistle when it goes through town, and you will hear it, but it should only bother the fussiest of sleepers.

This is a small place, and several of the folks are long term, but we had one of the only two pull through's. You pull up to a closed gate that faces the road, and when you leave in the morning, they open the gate and you drive right out. The desk wasn't manned when we got there but there was a note to take the open site and she would come see you later. So we did and she came about 8 PM. Nice lady. The park and bathroom is older, but is kept clean. The wifi worked but didn't have many bars of signal strength. We were fine for the night, and I would stay there again.

This park is next to a storage building facility. It is well kept grass and concrete. There is no gravel. We arrived late because of a flat tire, and the fellow at the desk waited for us to arrive when the football game was on. There are a number of long term campers, but clutter was at a minimum and their rigs were well maintained. The shower building is concrete block and older, but was clean and painted nicely. The Wi-Fi worked well, but the sewer was far back on the lot and required 30 ft of hose to connect. We stayed two nights to repair our blowout tire, but would stay again if we are in the OK City area.

This is right off of the interstate, and car and truck noise is a problem. As well you are right off the South end of the Airport runway. The air traffic does die down later at night. The highway does not. The sites are chip gravel, and it does track into your rig. The bathrooms were older but good and clean, and locked. Utility services worked well, including the wifi. We went to the Big Texan for a steak dinner, as the shuttle with the longhorns on the hood comes right to your camper door. A little secret though, if you can't eat the 72 oz free steak in an hour, it will cost you $72. I had a 12oz and paid for it, thank you very much. I would stay here again.

I liked the concrete runners for the wheels of the trailer, and our site was up front but still had the view of the town below. The grounds are desert gravel but were groomed with a tractor and rake. Everything was clean and neat, but on the night we were there the wind was on a rampage. It rocked the trailer for much of the night. Beyond the campgrounds control, but a complication from being on the top of the bluff overlooking the town below. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

This park is out in the desert and has trails all over the desert for walking. Very peaceful at night unless you are out in the front row like we were told to be. The rocks in the front border on being large boulders and make the sites very uncomfortable to use outside. Our small dog had problems walking and would refuse to walk in the rocks. We were next to the highway, and the traffic was steady most of the night. It really picked up at 6 AM for people going into Tucson. The campground does NOT have any bathrooms or showers. You must use your rig for all services. In our travel trailer that becomes somewhat of an issue, as our bathroom is small. The Wi-Fi was there, and I could connect, but there was no internet available. It was like the router wasn't connected to the access point. We did not have a connection the entire time we were there. Some of the folks close to the office did connect to a secondary router that was on a desk, but we were too far away to even see it. Questioning the owners wife was futile as she knew nothing about computers, and insisted that all was working fine. They only accepted cash or a check, no credit cards. I paid for three nights but pulled out after two as we were not happy without a bathroom or the internet. This could be a nice park with minimal improvements.

This is conveniently located along Interstate 25 South of the Springs. But since it is on the frontage road, highway noise is quite prevalent. And then there is the train on the far side of the creek, or small river. It whistles for much of the night, but is about a half mile away. The park is largely gravel with very little grass. Trees were mostly ornamental, and did not provide any shade. There are some planters every now and then that add to the ambiance somewhat. We were escorted to our site, and the fellow stayed as we hooked up the sewer. Perhaps to see how that was to be accomplished. Fountain creek goes over a spillway type dam in the back of the CG and makes a fairly loud rushing water sound, like a water fall. The park has some military families that are long term campers, but they were in the front of the park along the road in a group by themselves. The premium sites had metal patio tables and chairs on a concrete patio. These sites also had barbecue grills. I would rate the place higher, if it didn't seem so much like a big gravel parking lot.

This is a family oriented CG with all the facilities. The owner spent the evening giving rides to the campers with his Model A Ford firetruck. Then in a group campfire, he played guitar and several of the campers, sang with him. Mostly country type songs. The sites are a bit tight, and some are back to back with common utilities, but they are fanatical about each sight having green grass. Wi-Fi was provided free. The roads and sites are gravel or it could have been a higher rating. This is a good choice.

We stayed for the entire month of Jan., so the rate reflects the monthly charge. Electricity was extra. This park has three main areas and each was like its own CG. The new North part is as nice as it could be, but we were encouraged not to camp there, as we only had a 30 ft Travel Trailer. They really try to keep the new part for the motorhome and fiver set. We on the other hand were invited to park in the oldest part of the park where the 30 year old park models were. So we had the oldest bathrooms, (Clean) and the older laundry and pool. We were getting along with this OK, until one of the work campers decided that we were not following park rules with our dog. He blamed some dodo in his yard on us, even though we routinely cleaned up after our pet. Turned us in to the office and did his best to get us evicted. Made the whole month's stay miserable. You couldn't even sit outside because everyone stared at you. He had systematically turned all our neighbors against us. The activities in the park are wonderful, and the park is as nice as I have ever stayed in, in the new North part. Cable was good, and I had a cable modem for internet, which they provided with just a deposit, that they never charged to my credit card. My wife was so upset about the work camper neighbor, that she made me leave at the end of the month and vows she will never go back.

The wash rooms are just as bad as the last post says. We did not have the fire ant problem, but we were doubled onto a larger concrete site, where we were back to back with a motor home. The owner has added a bunch of new white rock to hold down the dust that is described in the last post. We were on some of that new rock. We were very glad to find this park as it was late and we just needed an overnight on our way to RGV. For the price you got about what you paid for.

The bath house was marginally clean. The CG is old as the other posts explain. And yes there are only about 7 or 8 sites with motor home pull thru access. About 6 more sites are up on top of the hill and available for 5th wheel or larger travel trailers. The remainder of the sites are for pop ups and tenter's, as they are down in a large wooded ravine. I called ahead and made reservations which were confused as to the night of our arrival. WiFi was available free but didn't work much of the time. When I pointed out that it was down the staff told me I needed to give it a break anyway. Excuse me but what does that mean? I might stay again if looking for a quick overnight. This is not a destination campground.

The location of this KOA is its best attribute. Like most KOA's it has the standard KOA building. Bath house was clean and neat but could be remodeled sometime soon. We went to Cape Cod and Boston from here as well as Plymouth. An easy drive to each location. The Sites with sewer are well used and tend to be completely without grass. Some rock or another form of ground cover would have been nice as it rained and we were in a complete mud bog. We were unable to keep from tracking it thru our rig. Make sure you have at least 50 ft of drinking water hose as the water hydrants are at the back of the sites and serve four unit from a common valve. I gave it an 8 based on the activities, pool and amenities, but not on our specific site.

Like the last reviewer we felt insulted to have to pay a quarter to use the shower trailer. There were only two stalls and one didn't have any hot water. We also had to pay the $5 dog fee and the $10 key card fee. They even tried to charge the dog fee the second night, but I called them on it and they took it off. This campground is located on the side of a mountain and is largely a trailer park for full time residents. They have some transient sites, but are not overly keen to rent them. WiFi wouldn't let me connect even with the pass key. Owner had a second linksys router that I connected to as it was open without security. When we left, it was 8:30 AM and the office wasn't open yet, even though it was listed as open at 8:00. We waited for about 15 minutes but finally had to leave because traffic through Hartford, Ct would get bad. Thought maybe they would send me my $10 key card deposit in the mail. So I left the card in the mail drop slot in the door. I'm still waiting, two months later. I hope they really need the 10 bucks. Maybe I could deduct it as charity.

I can't believe we were at the same KOA, that the previous folks were so put out with. When we were there the pool was closed for the season, so we can't rate that. And yes the store lacked the basic necessities. But it was October and they were getting ready to close up for the winter. Our site was fairly level and was rocked so we wouldn't sink in the mud, and there was no signs of mushrooms in the bath houses. WiFi was available for the first night but was so weak that we had to refresh constantly. But the second night it was gone completely, so I had to go find a hotspot up town to check eMail. They raise cattle for milk production in the area, and they do spread the fertilizer on the fields. We noticed this even in town at the Wal-Mart. On the morning we left there was a pungent manure smell, that had the tent camper next to us packed up and gone before breakfast. We enjoyed the Hershey tour and went to the Lancaster area to see the Amish activities. Lancaster is too far away to use this CG as a base camp. Stay more East of Lancaster to be in the center of the Amish villages. There were a number of extended stay campers in the sights towards the back of the CG but there were no abandoned or rusty rigs. Perhaps the new management will get things under control.

When arriving at the CG entrance driving West, beware of the hard turn onto the road back East to the CG. I couldn't make the turn with the 30 ft trailer and had to go find a place to turn around. This is an older CG that has recently become a KOA. Since it wasn't built as a KOA from the beginning, it lacks the features normally found at a KOA. It has more than half of the sites filled with extended stay folks, some of which are not the neatest. Stay away from the lake activities as the other posts describe, and other than those problems your stay will be fine. Sites were level and the owners were nice and helpful. WiFi worked well.

This is hard to find so follow the instructions carefully. Wooded CG with the entire floor of the woods rocked in. Hard to determine where your site ends and the next one begins. They went with you to park so you are located within your site. Clean bath house! Did I mention the clean bathroom? Nice laundry facility. Friendly people. Wish it would have had some grass and wider sites and it would have been a 9. Wifi worked well.

This campground has many activities for the kids with a lake and a swimming pool. Take the hay rack ride in the evening. It is pricey by Midwest standards as it comes in more like the Eastern CG's in its price structure. The full hookup row, across from the building/bath house is well worn, (not much grass) and rather tight together for the price. Sites could not have been more than 25 feet wide. This makes your neighbors smokey fire right inside of your front bedroom, unless you run the air constantly and keep closed up tight. We were on the end of the row which gave us the view of the lake, but also all of the traffic going back to the North half of the CG. We stayed two nights and went to the Air Force Museum. A must if you are in the area.

The web site makes this look like its wonderful. In reality it is on top of a almost mountain like hill or ridge. There is a hard switchback on the way up to the camp sites that could be hard for big rigs. We made it with the 29 foot travel trailer, but it is tight. They ask the motor homes with a "Toad" to unhook before you go up. The swimming pool is not on the same level with the campground and is a little far to walk to. They prohibit bike riding up or down the hill, too steep. So can not ride your bike to the pool. We selected this CG based on their New York City tours. We never did get on a tour even though we stayed for five days. So if that is your plan, make reservations well in advance. Their attitude about helping us was "too bad". Many extended stay folks in seemingly empty campers. The one next to us seemed abandoned. Heavily overgrown with grass and piles of wood covered with ratty tarps. Cable TV didn't work at all and WiFi was out part of the time. Showers were reasonably clean.

This CG is on the river and it must flood fairly frequently. It is very run down and has not been renovated recently. The bath house is very dirty and is painted green inside to disguise the mold on everything. Paint is chipped from the walls and there was no supplies such as toilet paper or soap. If you take a shower do not touch the walls as you will then need to shower again. We camped in the large grassy area away from the tight pull thru spots with sewer. We dumped the next morning but found the water supply and hose at the dump station to be ratty and without pressure. We ended up with mud all over. Nice! So do your self a favor and pass this CG by.

This is an old KOA that no longer has the franchise. Since it is no longer inspected by KOA it has slipped from those standards. The bath house looks nice on their web site but was in fact in need of a good cleaning. Cob webs surrounded all of the stall dividers and the floor was filthy. On your way back to your site you pass several extended stay units that have an inordinate amount of junk accumulated around them an have become a real eyesore. Since they did not have sewer in any of the sites they told us to just run our grey water into the bushes. Uck! The dump location in the morning was almost impossible to reach with the 29 ft TT. And it was uphill to boot and the tanks didn't empty. Glad to leave this CG in the rear view mirror.

They only have 39 sites with full hookups. They were rented to extended stay folks and none of them seemed to be there. This is a park like atmosphere with activities that would be found at a private lake. The poor rating is based upon the decline to use the dump station, and the worthless bath house facilities. I was told to use the dump station at Flying J truck stop back at the interstate because it was free. The bath house was made from old non stained wood and was black from water stain inside. You pulled on a chain and received cold water out of a pipe without a shower head on it. The floor was bare concrete that had not been cleaned in forever. There was an old locker in the entrance that has an animal nest in the bottom, where some kind of creature had spent the winter. It had not been cleaned in years. If you just want to stop and stay the night with water and electric, using your own self contained bathroom, this would be all right. The grass was mowed and the lake was a nice touch.

While this is just another KOA, with the same building they have at all KOAs, it is one of the nicest I have stayed at. It is in the long needle pine tree forested area. We still have pine needles in the slide out from them dropping all around the RV. The folks were very nice and the showers were not only clean but had radio speakers in the ceiling and played music to make it just a little more like home. This could be a ten, but the sites were only about 25 to 30 feet wide. Made you too close to the sewer for the next guy's rig. The fall colors in New Hampshire are beautiful.

Narrow sites in the sewer hookup area. They have sites that are so close together you are almost in a parking lot. They know this is the case, and only sell every other site. But on the big summer weekends I would check out a site before I committed to more than one night. The bathroom/shower for the sewer sites is under the house, with an outside entrance. It was clean enough but lacked ventilation. It was quite hot when we were there and you didn't stay to long in the shower room as it was overwhelming. Trees were very tall and we never had any sun on our site but then it was hot. Didn't even try the satellite dish, as Southern sky was out of the question. The WiFi only worked for two of the four days we were there, and the staff blamed the Geek Squad from the local Best Buy store for not being able to keep it running. This is an old farm place that is many acres, but the actual camp sites only occupy a small portion of the grounds.

This is a level, gravel parking area with hook ups, divided with split rail fence. Picnic tables were only half a table with seating on one side. If every site was taken you would be packed in like sardines. They only put campers on every other site. The nicer sites are to the rear of the CG where the extended stay, and motor home folks get to park. The shower house was clean and new. Wifi worked flawlessly. The office and owners home is in a big red barn just as the name says. Its out in the country but only a couple of miles and the trip to Wal mart was easy. We stayed here to go to Precious Moments, that is a must see if you haven't been there yet.

Yes this CG has many seasonal campers. They week end from where ever. It is situated in the oak trees that make up all of the lake Ozark area. While grass doesn't grow much in the back of the camp, they have graveled the entire area and there was no mud even in the rain. Our rate reflects the Good Sam discount that was happily applied. The sites are too close together and the sewers do extend above ground more than I have seen elsewhere. They escorted us to our site and provided wood to help us level out. We had cable TV and it worked well. We did have a fire ring and wood was for sale. The bath houses are old but were clean and serviceable. During the summer months you will need a reservation as they will fill up. The pool looked to be clean and the kids next to us were having a good time of it. The sites along the road are for tenters and late arrivals and do suffer from the road noise from the highway.
